Furry and Green Distractions

HOLY COW!! Have I really been away from blogging this long??? My last post was dated Aug 1st and today it's Sept 15th. That's real bad of me and I do apologize to my readers for being away for so long.

But it's not like I didn't have a valid, good reason, ya know.

I did just recently adopt a puppy, ya know.

But that was MONTHS ago!

I did have this huge event to organise and I was simply taking a break.

Erm... that was last month's news and you should've been well rested by now.

It's kinda hard to type coherent sentences when a puppy is begging for attention.

And you wonder why your puppy is such an attention whore?

OMG, and just when I was in the mood to blog sometime 3 weeks ago, Bibik introduced a game on Facebook called Farm Town and I've been so addicted to it ever since!

Get a life!

My onion-filled farm. It drives me nuts that most of the things I want are still locked to me :(


Seeing that I've been spending so much time playing Farm Town on FB, my brother introduced a new game called Restaurant City! Should McChef decides to set up his own restaurant one day, this game will provide me with plenty of practise in being the mama san restaurant manager.

I can even picture the tv ad for my restaurant:
Boy: So where do you wanna have dinner?
Girl: The Usual Place.

Lame, I know. But you gotta admit, it's genius!

So here I am, alternating between playing games on Facebook and watching the U.S. Open.

Seriously, you need to get a life... or get some new friends!

Ok, fine I'll admit it. The real reason why I've finally found the time to blog is because my puppy is in Melaka. She's been sent there to be disciplined by Bibik's Grandmother Dowager.

Yes, Sasha is being taken care of by Bibik's family as I'll be going back to Kuching on Thursday and will be there until the end of the month. And with her away, that gives me plenty of time to get back to life on the blogosphere!

So I'll be visiting all your blogs very soon and there'd better be some good juicy gossip for me to read! :)

Addicted to Evil Monsters

I have no one but myself to blame for not updating my blog for so long.

Nope, it wasn't work. Although I am gonna see a huge increase in my workload next month due to the upcoming big event in August. Crap, I'm so not looking forward to July!

Nope, it wasn't writer's block either. As a matter of fact, I had plenty of stuff to blog about... only it never made it to my blog.

Actually.... they were more like halfway written before I got distracted with something else.

PLAYING BUBBLETOWN ON MSN GAMES!!


This evil game is the reason why I haven't been replying emails, haven't been checking out your blogs, haven't been replying to the comments on my blog, haven't been updating my Twitter page...

I'm so addicted to this brainless game and it's so irritating that I can never go beyond Level 11. Therefore, I keep trying and trying until I get so exhausted that I don't have any energy left to do anything else online.

Man, I'm so lame. Who the hell stays up until 3am to play some stupid online game??

I can't keep this up when my new puppy arrives ;)

Going BINGO!

I used to think that the game of Bingo was a game for senior citizens as that was what I had often watched on tv – if there’s a scene on the old folks at a retirement home, more often than not they’ll be playing Bingo.

But that perception of mine changed when I went to elementary school in UK. Everyday we had an hour which was devoted to either story-reading or playing boardgames. Apart from my music lessons, PE and swimming classes, I practically lived for this hour because we were each given our little box of milk and a snack, and basically just spend the hour having fun.

On some days it could be story-telling (where sometimes the principal himself would come in and read us a story) and other days it would be us forming groups playing Scrabble, Pictionary, Snakes & Ladders and so forth.

But on one particular day, my classroom teacher Ms Eckles said she had a game where all of us can take part, there was no need to form groups. In her hand was this curious-looking device that looked like a transparent ball and in it were many tiny balls. She handed a card of numbers to each of us, told us to take a highlighter each and sit down.

So there we were, learning to play Bingo. At first I was pretty slow in locating the numbers that were called out but as soon as I got the hang of it, I had my game face on. It was so nerve wrecking waiting for that one number I needed to call out ‘Bingo!’. And even more nerve wrecking when I saw my friends anxious to call out for ‘Bingo!’ too. We were playing for chocolate brownies that day, so you can imagine how competitive we all were. When our play time was over, a riot almost broke out because we wanted to continue on playing. "Please Ms Eckles, just one more!!", we screamed. It was that addictive.

Last year I attended a party and they had a game of Bingo. We were playing for electrical goods and just being in that moment made me realize that you’re never too young or too old to be playing Bingo.

Now we can start them off on Bingo as young as 2 years old. It's Never Too Early for Christmas

There are people who prepares gifts way ahead of time. Be it gifts for birthdays, or anniversaries or even Christmas. My former boss would buy Christmas presents during the Mega Sale period. She loves getting a head start when it comes to presents.

Unlike most of us, we usually wait until the last minute to buy our presents. And by the time we get to Christmas, we usually go into debt and resort to eating bread until our next paycheck because we've realized that we haven't bought presents for our twice-removed uncle's 10 nephews. So I think it's a great idea to train ourselves to buy our presents ahead of time.

If there's one person I'd like to shower gifts to would be Bibik Nyonya. Apart from being my best frenemy, he also lives just one floor above me. So it's easier to share the gift make use of the gift give the presents to him. It's all about the logistics, baby.

Not only that, have you guys been to his apartment? It's quite sad lor. It's pretty lacking in the basic essential stuff. Yeah, he's got the nice Ikea lamp, which btw, from what we've learned, is great for photoshoots.



But he doesn't have things like water heater or even a washing machine! Damn kesian right?

So my gifts are meant to ease his burden. Here are some of my ideas.


1. Khind Water Heater with Pump

Every time Bibik takes his shower, he will need to boil water first. Why? Because he doesn't have a friggin' water heater. It must be really tiring for him to wake up every morning at 5am just to boil water as he needs to go to work really early. It's so old school boiling water to use for shower.






I think this would make an excellent gift for him. No need to be Cinderella anymore. Priced at RM350, the Khind Water Heater has built-in booster pump with variable control, built in ELCB with surge protector and it even has splash proof casing (which I think is the best feature in this water heater as we all know how Bibik likes to pretend think that he's a Disney mermaid). Plus, think of all the extra minutes he could use on sleeping.


2. Azon Dishwasher

I think having a dishwasher is pretty uncommon in Malaysia. It's more of a western thing. But still, I think this would make a great gift for Bibik as he has very delicate nails.




With nails like these, it's almost impossible to do your dishes




The Azon Dishwasher is priced at RM606 and has the capacity for 4 place settings. It also has 2-3 washing programmes to suit your various washing needs. Sized at 62.5(W) x 50.0(D) x 45.0(H)cm means that I can always carry it down to my apartment whenever I need to do my own dishes.




3. Hitachi Washing Machine - SF120GJ

Almost every other day I see Bibik carrying is laundry to and fro from the dobi downstairs. So struggle right? So I thought why not get him a proper washing machine right?



This baby does super clean wash, air jet dry, has 4-step washing system and super jet wave with wide jet pulsator. It also has the Nano Titanium filter and anti-backterial dual lint filter. Pretty sophisticated stuff, if you ask me.

Hey and it's not cheap too, you know. It costs a whopping RM1,800. And since my own washing machine broke down about a week ago, I'm pretty sure he'll let me use this washing machine too. Afterall, what are best frenemies for right? ;)

Yo Homey, Check Out My Bling Gnome!

I used to play a lot of computer games during my schooling days. I believe my first computer game was Prince of Persia. Oh, I was so hooked onto that game. Too bad I never finished the last stage, though, as I had accidentally found my brother’s game on the pc, called Doom. I think that was my first taste of 3D game and I loved it.

Slowly my choice of games evolved, depending on who I was hanging out with at that point in time. When I was in college, my friends and I played Counter Strike, which was a huge hit in cyber cafes. We were so addicted to that game that I think we spent most times in cyber cafes than attending classes. We had our own team and used to battle it out with other teams.

Anyways, now there’s a new Massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MPORPG) game called Dungeon Runners, which you can download and play for FREE. Set in a 3D fantasy world, you can choose to play as Fighter, Mage or Ranger and fight off nasty monsters, explore dungeons, discover new weapons and unlock new skills as you go on with your adventure.

Get Your Groove On

I’ve been quite addicted to playing the Ultimate Flirting Championship by Extreme Style by VO5 lately. This flirting game is really fun and it also feels real too. As the game asks you to enter your date of birth, gender and name, I’ve tried this game with different personalities, character and style. When I play as a woman, I get to be the judge and pick my suitor based on the answers that the 2 men give me. Sometimes I even play as a man, so it then becomes my job to win the lady by beating my opponent with my “killer lines”. It's fun using different characters to play. I guess it’s my way of trying out which flirting style suits me best, minus the embarrassment of having to do it face-to-face ;)

Victory Hair to me is when another person is attracted to you and you guys are able to connect because there is good chemistry between the two of you. My idea of a successful Victory Hair is when a guy just comes up to me, introduces himself properly (no corny pick-up lines, please!) and for some reason we’d just have a blast with each other’s company. A good hearty laugh is all I need when I’m on a date :)

Reel Love

“I’m just girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her” is definitely, to me, the most memorable line from a romantic movie ever. Ever. Perhaps the fact that the line was said by none other than the great Julia Roberts had something to do with me loving this particular line very much. Oh, just thinking about that scene just melts my heart away.

But if I was to try this line in real life, I think I would be laughed at. Simply because one, I’m not Julia Roberts and two, I’m NOT Julia Roberts.
