Shopping Can Be Stressful for the Clueless Girl

Scribbled by Perky |

Though shopping is fun for most people, but for me, I find shopping to be a rather strange experience sometimes. Unlike most people who shop for the sake of buying something new, I can only shop when there's something I need.

It seems that the only time I'm able to find and buy something I like is when I shop out of necessity, such as having fashion shows or weddings to attend, where I'm required to dress up for the occassion. Even then I usually leave my shopping up to the very last minute.

So it's times like these that I'll round up my girlfriends and drag them along for some impulsive last minute shopping. I need them to keep me focused on shopping (and not get distracted by wanting to stop and eat every half hour) and also someone to help carry my handbag and shopping bags. Plus I could always use the friendly advice.

When it comes to fashion trends, I tend to follow what I see in tv shows or movies. As I've been hooked onto the Gossip Girl series, I find myself wanting to follow Blair Waldorf's style (I have a girl crush on Leighton Meester btw). However, I'm not tall and slim like Blair (I'm short and have tree trunks as thighs, plus I'm still carrying my "Christmas" weight), so it's not exactly the figure-flattering kind of style for me.

Perhaps I could hide my bulging tummy with a trench coat instead. I mean, anybody can pull off the trench coat look right?

With a few more weddings coming up in the next few months and a fashion show to organize at the end of this year, there's still plenty of time for me to look for inspiration for my next splurge by browsing through the various clothing lines from different designers.

With people still buzzing about the recent Earth Day, I won't be surprised if more people go green with their wardrobe. I think that's a pretty cool thing to do.

The Effects of Gaming Weekend

Scribbled by Perky |

As mentioned in my previous post, I went for a gaming weekend at Nora's, who is a very good friend of mine from my college days. Not only does she have a PS3, but she also has a Wii, 4 Nintendo DS and PSPs. Cool huh? We were joined by Big Fat Witch and Hanie (also another very good friend from the good old days).

Hanie, Nora and I made quite the trio back in college. I think we played more than we studied. They were the people who made life in college so much more fun. We would have sleepovers, watch Japanese animes all night (instead of studying for exams, lol!) and played PlayStation. However, when college ended, we went our separate ways and sadly, lost touch with each other.

Hanie went off to study in a different uni, while Nora left Malaysia to live in Japan. Thank God for Facebook for reconnecting old friends. Almost 10 years has passed since we last saw each other, but seeing them again, it was like as we never lost touch (or never grew up! We're still the same peeps that we were in college).

This is Prince, who belongs to Nora's sister. He's from Switzerland btw... and he's really huge! He's really adorable and very well-behaved.

Don't believe me? He's almost as big as Ryan (Nora's younger bro), who is 12 years old!

I haven't quite recovered from gaming weekend actually. My arms kinda gave up on me after hours & hours of playing Wii all 4 types of video game consoles. Which would explain the crappy shaky pics above...

Yes, it was that crazy.

Gearing up to play Mario Kart on the Nintendo DS. Mario Kart is a vicious, vicious game!

Anyway, having the Wii Fit tell me that my body age is 46 years old gave me a rude wake up call (my actual age is 27 in case you're wondering, thankyouverymuch). I mean, I was one of the fittest girls in school and college. I used to run 3km every day (8km on weekends), worked out in the gym (thanks to the intensive Taekwon-Do training my instructor put me through since high school as preparation for the many competitions I was sent to), go rock climbing and I had only 12% of body fat. My body was lean, compact and tight.

How the hell did I let myself go like this? Though I'm not obese, having my body spill out in places where it's not suppose to isn't very good either. Lolz!

So I've been taking the stairs instead of the lift this week. And will try to lay off the fatty fried food... *sigh*

After days of unable to lift my arms up, I finally gained almost full use of my arm muscles again. My arms don't ache anymore. Lol!

Damn you, Wii. You're evil. You tell me I'm old and you almost rendered me paralyzed.

I received a very good surprise yesterday, which I'm going to share with you guys in my next post. Anyway, I'm off to shower. Anyone wanna help me scrub my back? ;)

Denial of the Big But-t

Scribbled by Perky |

One of my favorite stores is WH (which is kinda like the Gap of Asia). I actually didn't know that this is a concept store created by Malaysia's Pat Liew (who is the same person who created BritishIndia - the Malaysian equivalent of Banana Republic).

I love the clothes from WH. I think a third of my closet is filled with this label. I usually wear WH to sleep. For instance, below is the picture of my favorite shorts that I wear to sleep:

It's not the prettiest looking pair of shorts, but I love this shorts as they're very comfy.

So, imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning and found out that the shorts I wore to sleep last night has been torn!

Here's a picture of the right side:

The hole is so big, I can actually put my hand through it!

Here's a picture of the left side. I can put a finger through the hole:

And who's the culprit, you ask? Well, the culprit happens to be my BUTT! It has grown! Well, not overnight, I'm pretty sure of that. Hahaha. I know I should've done something about my "holiday weight" the moment I came back from my year-end vacation. But there were so many weddings to attend, and they were serving all this delicious food that it was hard NOT to eat. And we all know how much I love to eat!

I believe somebody's trying to tell me something, either I should stop wearing skimpy tight-fitting clothes OR I need to start working out (already I can hear Mama Diva lecturing me on how I need to cut down my food intake and start hitting the gym. Urgh!). Working out would be a cheaper alternative than having to buy new clothes to fit my "fuller" figure.

p/s: Notice that the hole on the right side is bigger than the one on the left? Should I be worried that could be a sign that my right butt cheek is bigger than the left side? Hmm.... ;)
